We recently have more warm days now
There was a nice day during the weekend and I took a walk to the Yoyogi Uehara area which I was very curious of.
This area is a popular area with many wonderful shops minding nature.
Within those, the first place I went in was “Wanokashi Meguri”.
It opened last spring and was a shop I wanted to visit and check out when hearing that they had snacks made of natural ingredients creating a new sensation.
It is a 5minute walk from Yoyogi Uehara station
The steel blue logo is the sign
Smelling the good scent of red beans (azuki) when entering the shop♪
The Japanese snacks here uses coconut sugar and agave syrup which is believed not to raise the glucose level too much, instead of using sugar.
Which may raise a question of what kind of sweetness would that be? But for those who are here for their first time, tasting the “soft bean” of the popular product is available.
It really has a kind sweetness and a refreshing taste
Of course the selections of ingredients in creating the sweetness, but this “soft bean jam” is different from those of usual bean jam and they use the skin of the red beans making a stronger scent of red bean itself.
During this season they also have Sakura rice cakes and there are organic black kinwa inside the dough enabling you to enjoy a poppy mouth feel which is not often found in Japanese snacks♪
In the corner of the shop is a counter and an eat-in space where they also sell material they actually use.
The display is of a tree shape used in making Japanese snacks♪
You may get a new image of snacks if you try a Japanese snack of “Wanokashi meguri”.
